FOLIATEC®.com "refines" Audi 80 for the Carbage Run 2018
With a "rocked-out" oldie for 500 € once across Europe? What sounds like a bad joke is actually a ritual that has been going on for almost 10 years. The "Carbage Run": That's 600 cars and three times as many participants in the largest edition in the Netherlands. The German version took place for the second time in 2018 and lasted from 30 July to 03 August. Hundreds of participants drove over 2,500 km from the Black Forest through the countries of Italy, France, Andorra and Spain. Jan Kratzsch from Bielefeld was also there, competing with his buddies in the trash rally "Carbage Run" in the "Gulf Racing" team. To make Jan's Audi look more like a "car" and less like "garbage", he decided to upgrade the veteran from Ingolstadt with products from FOLIATEC®.com.
Jan's "ride" is a 1989 Audi 80 with a 75-horsepower carburettor engine, which is on the threshold of H-registration and is even slightly older than he is. Like all the other participating vehicles, it was worth less than half a thousand when it was purchased. Nevertheless, the limousine has no dusty 80s flair whatsoever. 29-year-old Jan designed his vehicle in the famous "Gulf Racing Look" and gave it the "finishing touch" with products from FOLIATEC®.com.
The spray film in "neon orange", with which he embellished the rims, was used as well as the Lug Nuzz Cover in the colour "chrome" as a contrasting element on the wheel bolts. "The spray film held up excellently and was very resistant despite enormous temperature differences: we only had 5 degrees in Andorra in the morning and 40 in Spain in the afternoon," Jan explains in the interview.
