FOLIATEC.com shows revised Roadster at the Essen Motor Show

Blue skin and wide tires

Anyone who wants to stand out at the Essen Motor Show needs a hot iron in the fire. After all, with over 500 exhibitors, Germany's second-largest auto show is a veritable showcase of sensations. In Hall 11 at Stand F118, there is just such a sensation to marvel at. With the help of seven generous partners, FOLIATEC.com has taken a close look at the Millennium Roadster in order to turn the 17-year-old show car into a brand-new racing machine: the FOLIATEC Roadster or simply FTR.

The history of the matte blue two-seater, which was once a conventional Golf IV, is as short as its name. Today, hardly anything is left of it. The standard doors have been replaced by fancy gullwing doors and the roof has been rationalized away, as have the exterior mirrors. The car's skin, covered with body spray film from FOLIATEC.com, rests on 19-inch DOTZ wheels, which in turn are fitted with high-performance YOKOHAMA tires. Speaking of fitted: On the wheel bolts are the LugNuzzCovers from FOLIATEC.com, a real world first and the first choice when it comes to creating the stud look without conversions. The necessary road holding is ensured by the coilover suspension from KW and the wheel spacers from SCC. At the rear, two eye-catchers await the attentive trade show visitor. The centerpiece is the three-flow exhaust system from Remus. The whole thing is framed by the diffuser, which was refined with Hard Rock Liner from FOLIATEC.com.

But that's not the end of the list of sights, because if you want to turn a show car into a race car, there's no getting around engine tuning. Peter Muggianu, known as the creator of the tuning company Muggianu Turbo, tickled around 232 hp out of the 1.8T. Bringing the unleashed roadster to a halt again is the job of the brake system from TAROX, including slotted 323×28 mm brake discs. With all these partners, FOLIATEC.com exhibits an exciting vehicle and worthy flagship for the 35th anniversary of the brand.
