Application
Preparation: We recommend carrying out the work in a clean environment at a room temperature between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. The application must be carried out on a smooth, clean, grease-free and dry surface. For pre-cleaning, we recommend our pre-cleaner, article number 79934.
➊ For open-pored surfaces or overhead bonding, such as on the headliner, we recommend using our spray adhesive, article number 2480. This is suitable for permanently flexible bonding. Spray the substrate in one or two thin coats and allow to flash off for approx. 10 to 15 minutes.
➋ Cut to size: Now place the part to be covered on the FOLIATEC.com Panther Wrap film and cut to size. An allowance of 3 to 5 centimeters is necessary all around. Depending on the shape of the component (strong curvature), more allowance may be necessary. The protective film remains on the adhesive side during this step.
➌ Remove the protective film: For large-area work, we recommend working in pairs. Once the protective film has been removed from the adhesive side, the soft material is very flexible and adheres strongly. Make sure that the adhesive side does not touch itself.
➍ Stick it on: Carefully apply the FOLIATEC.com Panther Wrap film to the part to be bonded, pulling lightly. Small creases can be smoothed out with your fingers. The film can also be easily repositioned. Three-dimensional bonding is possible due to the stretchability of the film. At edges, we recommend folding the film over and pressing it down.
➎ Cut off the excess: After gluing, the excess material must be cut off. Use the enclosed cutter knife for this. The cutter knife can be shortened several times so that a sharp blade is always available. After approx. 30 minutes, we recommend pressing all edges and surfaces again.
