General note of advice: The adhesive effect can be affected by the surface applied to, the method of application and external impacts.
Clean the foil only with the usual detergent (soap solution) available on the market and a soft cloth. Before you begin with the work please compare the measurements of the surface to be applied to with those of the ReflectingFoil. Contact with aggressive cleaners/substances can spoil the material. Possibly occuring, slight, seemingly milky streaks (extrusion streaks) are effected by processing, and are no cause for complaint. During cutting see that these streaks are applied to the fringe areas as accurately as possible, or cut them off completely. The glossy side of the foil ist provided with a transperent protection film which reduces the risk of being scratched during application, and should only be removed after installing.
Additional requisites:
Cloth, cleaning material, pattern material (transparent plastic foil/ tracing paper), foil marker, adhesive tape, scissors.
1) Clean surfaces to be covered thouroughly from dust, dirt or oil traces.
2 + 3) Mark the exact outlines of the surfaces to be covered upon suitable pattern material (Tip: Spread a piece of transparent plastic foil or tracing paper upon the hood, attach (with tape), and draw its outlines upon the plastic foil with a foil marker.)
4) Cut the pattern material along the outlines, and attach the various patterns to the PERFORMANCEReflectingFoil with adhesive tape (e.g., Scotch tape). Cut out the ReflectingFoil with a pair of sharp scissors (according to the patterns).
5) Check the pieces of ReflectingFoil for fitting with respect to the surfaces to be covered. Improve fitting if necessary. Remove the the protection foil and apply the (selfadhesive) ReflectingFoil pieces.
Press hard, and remove the enclosed air brushing from the center to
the rim (Do not use a squeegee).
6) Finished!
Advice for installation: In case of complex curvature of the surfaces, you are recommended to apply the foil using several strips in order to be able to attach the foil without tension.
Note of advice: In case you are removing a standard available insulation layer by all means check for a possible increase in noise (dB) while driving. This can lead to the loss of your general operation permit! Mind the licencing conditions specific to your country.
Safety note: In case of application inside the hood of the engine compartment: In order to prevent damages/accidents, by all means check for faultless attachment and secure adhesion of the Reflectionfoil upon the hood from time to time before driving.
