Please read the instruction manual carefully before usage.
Contents: 1 NEON-Cable, control unit with saftey fuse (100mA), Technical Control Board certification of safe use (Germany)
Required tools and materials: Two Parker screws 3.5x16 mm (to screw on the control unit), scissors, cable lugs, silicon remover, shrinkdown plastic tubing, possibly a screwdriver (to remove paneling), alternative: superglue, transparent silicon or molding tape.
Caution: Make sure to disconnect the battery of the vehicle prior to installation!
1. Select the area to be illuminated and fit the NEON-Cable accordingly. Make sure that the installation location is protected from water and well ventilated, e.g. dashboard support, centre console etc.
2. Connect the power lead cable to the fuse box (terminal 15 or 30), see wiring diagram. We recommend the installation of an ON / OFF switch.
3. Clean the base to which the cables are to be attached, using silicon remover
4. Fasten the NEON cable by gluing it on at certain points with superglue, trim adhesive tape or transparent silicon. Superglue: white marks may appear if too much glue is used. Please observe the safety instructions on the glue.
5. Cut off any excess length of the NEON-Cable and isolate the end with heat shrink tubing to protect it from moisture (their function may be affected by oxidation, in which case guarantee claims would no longer apply). Affix the end of the cable firmly to the base.
Please note: NEON Cables are for installation only in dry vehicle interiors where they are protected from water and are not visible from outside. Do not position them within the driver’s direct field of vision (only below the top edge of the instrument lighting panel). The transformer may become hot in case of longer periods in use. Make absolutely sure there is sufficient ventilation! No guarantee does not cover installation mistakes incorrect polarity, improper installation, or incorrect use of the components, etc.
Safety instructions: It is illegal to install this product on the exterior of the vehicle or in a place from which it can be seen from outside. Installation is not permitted under the (German) Road Traffic Law. Please observe the country-specific legal requirements. Do not install near the car radio or heating systems. The functions of other electronic equipment (e.g. ABS system, navigation equipment, etc.) may possibly be adversely affected.
NEON Cable is only for use on 12 V DC. In order to prevent cable fires, short circuits, etc. let the installation be checked by an authorised auto electrician. Install in a protected place to avoid damages to the NEON-Cable by passengers getting in and out of the vehicle. Periodically check to be sure that the electrical connections are sound and the adhesive is firmly attached. Please make absolutely sure that cables cannot be crushed or bent and that they are protected from any risk of breakage or abrasion.
Warning: Before getting starting the installation, disconnect the battery cables to prevent electrical shock and injury and possible damage to other electronic components. Note the transformer has a high output voltage.
