Tools needed: Felt-tipped pen to mark the bore holes, rechargeable drill, 2.5 mm metal drill bit to bore the holes for the fastening screws, Phillips screwdriver, crimp connectors to connect the connection cables.
1) Select a suitable position for the LED FlameLight and the controller.
2) Separate the connector plug between controller and FlameLight (unplug carefully, so as not to bend the contact pins).
3) Fasten the controller with the included screws (under the dashboard for example) and run the connecting cable (red / black) to the fuse box / battery according to the diagram. We recommend connecting the red cable to terminal 15/30 steady current and the black cable to grounding point.
4) Fasten the support angles using included screws to the pre-drilled holes of the FlameLight housing.
5) Mark the bore holes (with felt-tipped pen for example) to fasten the support angles at the desired installation location, drill the holes with the metal drill bit and fasten the FlameLight with the included screws. Run the multiwire connecting cable from the controller to the FlameLight. Take care not to crimp or damage the cable. Use the included cable ties for fastening. Prior to connecting the multiple plug, pull the included shrinkdown plastic tubing over one end of the pug connection, then connect the multiple plug and push the shrinkdown plastic tubing over the plug connection and heat this area using a hair dryer or lighter. This protects the plug connection from moisture.
Important: Keep all cables away from heat sources (heater, engine, exhaust manifold, radiator etc.). Take the total cable length into consideration during installation so that the cables are placed without tension. (Make sure the cables do not break or chafe!)
Safety precaution: Reverse battery connection, improper installation, manipulation of components, etc. constitute a danger and will void any and all warranty claims. Mount at a protected location to avoid damage through external influence. Check the LED-FlameLight for a secure fit as well as the electrical connections on a regular basis. Take special care that none of the cables are pinched or buckled and are protected from chafing or breakage. Do not under any circumstance mount the FlameLight on the exterior of the vehicle or behind the front grill. Only mount the FlameLight underneath the dashboard in the interior of the vehicle (not on the rear window panel etc.).
Note: Installation is not allowed within the scope of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.Paragraph 49a of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards is applicable, which in principle prohibits decorative or ornamental lighting! Paragraph 30 is applicable for the interior lighting.
Accordingly, the interior lighting may not impede the driver's vision of the instruments. If light penetrates outside, it may not impede the prescribed lighting of the vehicle nor oncoming traffic. The interior lighting is to be arranged in such a manner that no direct light can penetrate outside.
White light may not under any circumstance be emitted to the rear. Flashing light is not allowed.
For jurisdiction outside of the Federal Republic of Germany: Please observe the country specific vehicle registration codes.
The LEDs are CE-tested. The have an average life span of 10,000 hours (1 year warranty).
