Application directions

Take your time for the application!!
The application should be carried out by at least 2 persons. (For customers who have little experience with crafts we recommend to have the foil installed by a qualified shop, e.g. a FOLIATEC STYLINGTEAM Station. The ideal application temperature is between 15°C and 25°C.
Work in a wind and dust protected area, without direct sunlight and if possible in a closed room. Prepare for the application with the following work steps:
Mix the water with the dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle (application fluid).
If necessary dismantle washer nozzles, air vents and other parts on the engine hood.
Thoroughly clean the application surface from dirt and car wax residue (e.g. with FOLIATEC ADHESIVE remover (Article number 2250) or silicon remover). Do not use paintthinner!

Application
1) Take the foil out of the package and unroll on a clean surface.
2) Measure the engine hood and cut the foil to size with a surrounding overlap of approx. 5 cm.
3) Evenly spray the application surface with application fluid (moisten).
4) Hold the foil up on two corners and slowly pull off the carrier foil (protective foil) evenly spray the revealed adhesive surface immediately
with application fluid to avoid accumulation of dirt.
Make sure that the adhesive surface does not come into contact with the floor to avoid inclusion of dirt on the foil. Hold the foil stretched so that it does not stick together
5) Place the stretched cut-out foil on the engine hood and position it by sliding the foil generally smoothen the foil with your hands. Again moisten the cut-out foil on the top side.
6) Press out the moisture from the foil centre with the enclosed felt squeegee. Keep the application pressure as constant as possible.
Continue using the squeegee until all moisture is removed and the foil applied free of bubbles and creases.
7) Place the foil around the fold of the engine hood (edges and corners)
to prevent shrinkage of the foil (improves adhesive properties).
8) Slightly heat the foil with a hotair dryer and carefully press out
the creases and bubbles resulting from application on curvatures (Caution: Do not overheat or you may burn the foil!).
9) Carefully cut off the excess foil with the cutting knife. Take care not to damage the paint.

Application tips

For application over air vents or the like, cut the foil in the centre of the opening and pull around the edges while heating.
Take care not to scratch the paint with the cutting knife when cutting free the washer nozzle holes etc. danger of corrosion.
Do not puncture tiny bubbles that may have formed during application they will disappear in 3 to 4 days as soon as the remaining moisture evaporates.

Directions for care
Do not clean the foil with "strong" cleaning agents or paint polish.
