The car window safety film can significantly reduce the risk of injury from glass splinters in an accident. In addition, in an impact it prevents the arms and head for example, from being ejected outside the vehicle, which can result in serious injury.
The UV-filter of the car window safety film reduces UV-radiation up to 99 percent. On the basis of these facts, the SECURLUX® safety film from FOLIA TEC® can be recommended from a medical point of view.

Olaf Kretschmann | Responsible field of expertise DEKRA Automobil GmbH
The side impact simulation performed by DEKRA had the goal of comparing the behavior of a standard window pane to a window pane equipped with SECURLUX® safety film from FOLIA TEC® during a ram window impact test.
The test showed that the flying glass splinters can be prevented for the most part through the application of a SECURLUX® safety film from FOLIA TEC® on the inside of the window pane. It was nevertheless possible to remove the side window pane without the use of tools to actuate the rescue of the vehicle occupants.

According to Article 253 in Supplement J of the International Sport Legislation from the Federation International de l´Automobil (FIA), transparent and colorless anti-glass-splitter safety films are allowed in the side and rear windows for groups N, A, B and SP cars. Rallies require transparent safety films on the side windows and sunroof. Safety films such as SECURLUX® improve the safety of the drivers in case of an accident. This measure provides extra safety especially for minor accidents because glass splinters are not dispersed in the interior of the vehicle and parts of the body cannot be ejected out of the vehicle.
