Care information
 |
The paint protection film does not need any special care or maintenance. In order to be able to enjoy the product for as long as possible, however, you should heed some information regarding its care: Care of our paint protection product is similar to that of your vehicle’s paint; just as the vehicle benefits from being kept in a garage and regularly washed and polished, so does the film. Good care pays dividends.
The transparent paint protection film’s high-shine look is best preserved if you treat it with clear paint polish approx. 2-3 times a year. Should any polish or wax build up along the edge of the film during washing or polishing of the vehice due to the thickness of the film, this excess can be carefully removed using a soft, damp towelling cloth or cotton bud without damaging the protective foil or the paint.
Due to the nature of the material the unvarnished transparent polyurethane paint protection film (PU film) may take on a slightly weathered look. Particularly, without polishing care or with constant UV exposure, the film may change colour, i.e. become slightly yellowed. Its protective function is however not affected by this. A change in colour may also be caused through contact with wheel care products, rim cleaner, petrol, oil or other abrasive fluids, particularly on the transparent protective film. Please thoroughly remove any splashes of these substances immediately. All paint protection films offered here are suitable for use in car washes.
Important information regarding steam cleaning
Please do not aim the steam spray directly on the edges of the film, as they can be lifted up under the pressure allowing water to penetrate.
Important information regarding film use on white painted surfaces
Vehicles with white paintwork should be washed weekly and waxed monthly, otherwise the film may change colour due to a build up of dirt, rainwater or pollen.
