53% of the sun`s energy consist of INFRARED radiation which is a main source of heat energy. Invisible yet perceptible, this sort of radiation causes particular discomfort when it heats up the human body and the car interior.
FOLIATEC® UV/SolarHeatProtecionFilms feature a high-grade precious-metal layer which reflects the infrared (heat) radiation like a mirror. When driving, the films prevent the cabin from heating up and improve the cabin climate. If a car is left in the open sun, FOLIATEC® AutoGlassFilms can reduce but not fully prevent the accumulation of heat in the cabin. Relief comes easy: ventilate the cabin, use the wind and enjoy the comfort of the FOLIATEC® AutoGlassFilms.
The films also support the cooling effect of air conditioning systems by keeping the air cool (thermo effect).

The visible proof:
the right side of the glass (2) is equipped with FOLIATEC® UV-/InfraredProtectionFilm and rejects very effective incident infrared (heat) radiation.The left side of the glass (1) which abounds extremely red, shows very clear the high transmittance of infrared (heat) radiation on the uncoated side of the glass.
Fitted with a FOLIATEC® UV/SolarHeatProtectionFilm, the right-hand glass section efficiently rejects infrared (heat) radiation, while the deep red coloring of the left-hand side glass section shows the significantly greater infrared transmission of uncoated glass.
Test design: car glass, divided in two sections - one fitted with FOLIATEC®`s »MIDNIGHT-REFLEX« UV/SolarHeatProtectionFilm. Heat radiation simulated by infrared lamps.

For better visibility the outlines of the cabin were redrawn.
