In the year 2004, the Federal Criminal Investigation Department in Germany registered over 58,000 auto thefts and over 439,000 vehicle break-ins! One of the most frequent methods used to force entry into the vehicle is to break a side window. Now, the extremely impact resistant and break-through impeding SECURLUX® and FAMILY-PROTECT safety film puts an end to that.

On the basis of up to three break resistant layers and the reliable bonding of the film with the window pane, the glass no longer shatters into a thousand splinters from an exterior forced impact. The window pane equipped with FOLIATEC® film remains intact in the frame. Tests have shown that the SECURLUX® car window film resists even severe and multiple attacks with a variety of burglar tools.

Break-in protection (at home)

Windows in safety-critical areas (EDP, construction, labs...) of a company represent a specially high risk, as do shop windows and the windows of residential houses.

FOLIATEC® safety films protect these window areas. Safety film means that the glass pane largely remains in the window frame following a pressure wave or after a stone is thrown, the right selection of products can mean that a standard higher than that in DIN 52 290, Part 4, Resistance Class A1 “Penetration-reducing properties” can be achieved. These films, usually with triple lamination, have extremely high tear elongation and adhesion. They have a definite deterrent effect, for hit-and-run break-ins, for example.
