Is it allowed to run the neon lamps while driving?

Please see herefore the land-specific permission terms. Valid for the BRD: Basic is the STVZO (road traffic licencing regulations) §49a and §30 and the ECE regulation R48 (light-technical equipment).
Accordingly - the interior lightning may not vitiate the visibility of the motorist as well as the visibility on the instruments.
In case of some light getting outwards, the prescribed light-technical equipments and the oncoming traffic may not be affected.
The interior lightning must be coordinated, that no direct light can come out of the car.
In no way, white light may emited backwards. Flashlight is illegal.
