Six fold sun blocker

If enjoyed moderately the sun’s influence on human skin is healthy and comfortable. However, especially the skin of children reacts very sensitively when exposed to sunlight over an extended period.

This corresponds to the six fold of a regular sun blocker (SPF 30).

The rear and side windows of conventional passenger cars merely filtrate the UV-B radiation of the sunlight. UV-A light, which causes skin cancer and harms even the deeper layers of skin, however, is not filtered out and can penetrate the skin, representing a constant health risk, particularly to those who drive for long periods.
According to newspapers reports Die Welt and the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, in a recent study, dermatologists confirmed an increase in the cases of tumors caused by dangerous UV exposure whilst driving.

UV protection

Depending on its wavelength, the invisible UV radiation is divided into UV-A and UV-B radiation. Being the main cause for the fading of all kinds of fabrics, UV light also causes the human skin to get a tan. Under adverse circumstances UV radiation can cause skin cancer.

• UV-A Radiation
  Being both invisible and imperceptible, this kind of radiation is particularly harmful to the human skin. Car windows fitted with FOLIATEC® carWindowFilms reject 99% of this radiation.
• UV-B Radiation
  Less harmful than UV-A radiation, moderate exposure to UV-B radiation produces a tan by causing the skin to produce the dark pigment Melanin. However over-exposure to this sort of radiation may cause a - painful and potentially dangerous - sunburn.
