FOLIATEC.com is a family-run, medium-sized company with its
headquarters in Nuremberg. When it was founded in 1982 it
was a branch of the group known today as “Boehm”. This consisted
of a total of five individual companies in the area of Nuremberg.
This included the petrol station network of SUPOL (www.supol-tank.
de) as well as a company which dealt with the hiring of real estate
for businesses.
It all began at the start of the 80s with a bright idea by the current
General Manager of FOLIATEC.com, Michael Boehm. As a student
he became aware of autoglass tinted films on a visit to the USA,
which were virtually unknown in this country. In America on the other
hand tinted windows were not just in demand for stretch limousines.
After a few samples he brought with him proved popular amongst
friends, he began to expand the business idea systematically, by
offering this car accessory to specialist German shops. A franchise
system also developed from this, through which the customer was
also able to have his/her autoglass tinted films fitted professionally.
Today there are over 350 professional STYLING TEAM service
partners across the country and in twelve other European countries.
In Germany the films are stocked by eleven wholesalers and eight
regional centres. Furthermore almost 50 importers distribute the internationally
recognised trade mark FOLIATEC.com all over the world.
The expansion also continued at the headquarters in Nuremberg: in
2001 a new company building was built. Here around 40 employees
work permanently to supply the level of quality to both trading
partners and end customers, which they have come to expect from a
pioneer company like FOLIATEC.com. Numerous awards (“iF Design
Award”, Industry Forum Hanover, “Best New Accessory Product
Winner”, SEMA, USA, “1st place – favourite brand in the CARSTYLING
category”, “Auto Szene Tuning” magazine) also confirm that
FOLIATEC.com is on the right track.
